Which guru to select: a compromised bureaucrat or a cool revolutionary

Which guru to select: a compromised bureaucrat or a cool revolutionary

Here is another email that I received on the “guru issue”.

A question

Hare Krsna prabhu,

I would like to take initiation so that I can eventually do service in
the altar.

However, I have delayed the initiation process for over a decade due to
the various discrepancies that I have observed in ISKCON.

As much as I would like to increase my services and make some
significant contribution in pushing forward the Hare Krsna movement, my
tolerance level for the growing negligence of Srila Prabhupada’s
teachings and standards has reached it’s limit.

I’ve stood by and watched the standards drop with each passing year. At
this point, I can’t tell the difference between ISKCON and other mundane
religious/humanitarian organizations.

Some authorities have chosen to remain silent about the deviations while
the rest have aided and propagated these deviations themselves.

My attempts to voice the problems have either been shunned or
purposefully ignored by devotees who have given up on any hopes to
restore the standards in the movement. Their preferred action is to
focus on one’s personal sadhana and turn a blind eye on all the nonsense
in the movement.

If this is how everyone wants to treat the deviations in ISKCON, there
will be no ISKCON left for the future generations. It will simply be an
empty hollow shell with no meaningful spiritual values to save anyone.
Instead, they will all go to hell for aiding and abetting these nonsense
activities.

It seems to me that devotees no longer read Srila Prabhupada’s books or
listen to his lectures. Or if they do, perhaps they’re too stupid to
understand his simple instructions. Therefore they have invented new
forms of devotional practices every year, without consulting the sastra.

As a result, I have decided to personally undertake the task of exposing
these miscreants within Srila Prabhupada’s movement and bring to light
their nonsense activities which are in direct violation of the teachings
of His Divine Grace.

Currently, I’m going to the temple everyday, attending programs,
performing services, and taking prasadam. But I live outside the temple.
If the authorities find out, and they eventually will, that I have
published numerous articles online exposing the nonsense within the
movement, I have no doubt that they will excommunicate me immediately.

Should I still take initiation to expand my services in the diety
kitchen and altar? If so, which gurus would you recommend me to consider
for initiation?

Exactly.

Yes, that is true.

What is your website url?

Well, if you select a guru, the point is to have an honest guru-disciple relationship. If you have a hidden website where you write articles without the knowledge of your guru, that relationship is not sincere from the very beginning. That is something to keep in mind.

I can’t recommend any official ISKCON gurus since the current system of licensing gurus by the GBC is flawed. Any guru licensed by the GBC is not a guru, because he must promise to be quiet about deviations. Real guru will never agree that somebody else dictates to him what part of the truth is he allowed to say, and what part of truth he must hide. Real guru will never sign a gag order preventing him to speak the truth. As a natural consequence of that, all disciples of licensed gurus must also be quiet.

So, at this moment, it would be best to accept some disciple of Srila Prabhupada as a guru. Someone who never became a dog of the corrupt GBC body. Someone who follows Srila Prabhupada strictly understands philosophy but at the same time didn’t sign GBC gag order. Kailasa Candra dasa, Bhakta dasa (William Benedict), Dhanesvara dasa, Garuda das (who already initiated disciple without the GBC permission), Krishna Dharma das (who already wrote an article about flawed GBC system), Jayamadhava das (from Russia). I would even recommend Henry Doktroski, but he is drinking whiskey. 🤣🤣🤣 These are some of the candidates, some of them would probably not even agree to initiate, but I am sure there are many more.

If you really want a guru, select some cool revolutionary, not a compromised Gestapo bureaucrat. But taking initiation from a guru who is not licensed by the GBC, you would send a strong message that their Gestapo system is not here to stay.
