Dreadful “elderly sannyasi” tattva confirmedHanuman das
I had a doubt all along. I had a doubt that as you progress in Krishna consciousness, as you become very renounced and very advanced. You become eligible to have a girlfriend, female assistant or whatever else you want to call her. That is a young unmarried woman, who travels around with “elderly sannyasi”. She is doing “devotional service” by “assisting” a man who is so divinely powerful, that he is not affected by her presence.
It’s almost like when Parvati touched Siva’s genitals and he was undisturbed.
Patita Pavana das ACBSP published a letter he recently received from Indradyumna Swami.
As you can see, Indradyumna Swami is complaining, while he is trying to organise young gypsy girls dance on the street, that is called preaching, some of the people are “trying to bring him down”. Who is trying to bring him down? He didn’t say. Why people are trying to bring him down? He didn’t say. Ah, it’s just because they are envious. Do you have any idea how hard it is to travel with so many girls? Do you have any idea about austerity of managing so many girls? You can see how Indradyumna Swami is almost crying from all that hard work:
Although we don’t know who is trying to bring Indradyumna Swami down, or why, many devotees jumped in to defend Indradyumna Swami. It’s hard to defend somebody if you don’t know what did he do wrong. Anyway, many people tried to defend thim, and that Includes Govinda dasi, one of the most senior disciples of Srila Prabhupada. She writes:
So, she says: For young brahmacharies, certainly mixing with women is very dangerous—and even more so for young sanyasis. However, for elderly sanyasis, who have already lived a household life, raised their children, even have grandchildren, it is not to be seen in the same light.
So, now, all of the sudden, we have different lights in Krishna consciousness. We have young sannyasi red light, because he has to be very careful. Then we have “elderly sannyasi” green light, which means he can associate with girls more freely because “he has already lived a household life”. So, anybody who has lived a household life and become a sannyasi, he has green light to associate with girls?
Unfortunately, this is wishful thinking, because Srila Prabhupada never preached “elderly sannyasi” philosophy. Elderly sannyasi has to follow all the rules even more strictly to show an ideal example to junior sannyasis and brahmacaries.
Srila Prabhupada never gave separate set of rules for younger sannyasis and elderly sannyasis who lived a household life. On the contrary, Srila Prabhupada himself, who was elderly sannyasi who has already lived a house life, said the following:
I am a sannyāsī. I am forbidden to make any association with women. I cannot talk even with woman in a lonely place. That is forbidden. I cannot talk with a woman. I give you one practical example. When my Guru Mahārāja, my spiritual master, was living… I am speaking about fifty years before. We were all young men at that time, and one of my Godbrothers, he was also young man, Dr. O. B. Kapoor, and his wife was also young. So his wife wanted to speak with my Guru Mahārāja. My Guru Mahārāja was at that time not less than sixty or more than that, and the girl, my friend’s wife, she was not more than twenty-two years. But actually, she was just like his granddaughter. But she proposed, “Sir, I wanted to speak with you something confidentially.” My Guru Mahārāja said, “Oh, no, no. I cannot speak with you confidentially. You can speak whatever you like here.” Just see. “I cannot speak.” Now the so much age difference, so much, I mean to say, affection, still, he refused: “No, no. I cannot talk with you confidentially because you are woman.” (BG 7.8-14 – New York, Oct 2, 1966)
As you can see, Srila Prabhupada didn’t say, “I am elderly sannyasi, I already lived a household life, so my association with women should be looked upon in different light”. Srila Prabhupada said quite the opposite.
And, at the end, Govinda dasi concludes that anybody who is sitting at home with computer, should accept her “elderly sannyasi” nonsense, unless he is willing to travel to Siberia.
Finally, she concludes with “That is my humble opinion”. I don’t agree. When you concort retard philosophy, which goes 100% against Srila Prabhupada’s teachings, that is not “humble opinion”, that is puffed up opinion.
The bright side
Now that we defended Srila Prabhupada’s legacy by establishing proper siddhanta, we can add the following. We exposed Indradyumna Swami one year ago for travelling everywhere with Russian translator Varsarani devi dasi. We did a quick scan of his recent tour and we didn’t find a single photo of two of them together. So we will conclude that Indradyumna Swami adjusted his behaviour for the maximum protection of Srila Prabhupada’s reputation.
Still, we remain highly sceptical about young women dancing in the front of harinama column. This invention of Indradyumna Swami is neither chaste nor shy, but these two qualities of women were mentioned by Srila Prabhupada more than 1000 times in his works. This remains to be fixed.
