Can sannyasi travel with unmarried woman in a bonafide way?Hanuman das
Hare Krishna, here is the video about my latest investigation into sannyasis who travel with women. All the evidence and emails mentioned in the video are below.
Wife of Swamiji? 😀 😀 😀
I asked devotee if Kunti is living in Mauritius and if she is married, here is his response:
Probably not married
As you can see from the photo, mataji doesn’t have red dot on the forehead, when I asked Navayogendra Swami’s servants if she is married or not, I got only silence as a response, which means she probably doesn’t have husband. And local devotees claim that she is “Swamiji’s wife”.
Far away from home
Kunti mataji’s home base is Udhampur, but these photos are taken in Mauritius, that is more than 6000 km away.

Dear Navayogendra Swami,
please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
My name is Hanuman das, I am disciple of Sridhar Swami (ACBSP), I am independent investigator and I run website https://lastingimpression.info/ where I advise devotees about deviations in our movement. I especially focus on sannyasis with female assistants.
I have been notified recently that you are travelling with female assistant Kunti dasi? Is that true?
This is open letter, it will be published on my website together with evidence that I already have.
I am giving you fair chance to explain your behaviour.
While you are contemplating how to reply, please consider following quotes by Srila Prabhupada:
In the name of religion you do all nonsense rascaldom, and if the leader approves, “Yes, you can do.” Vivekananda did it. Vivekananda did it. “Yes, there is no difference between eating meat and not meating eat in terms of religious system.” He preached this, and all the sannyāsīs of Ramakrishna Mission, they eat meat, they drink, they have WOMAN SECRETARY, and everything. This Chinmayananda also like that. I know his whole history. Unless one is purely Kṛṣṇa conscious, one cannot give up ALL THESE BAD HABITS. This is the test. (Morning walk — April 24, 1974, Hyderabad)
Then this is a hint by Lord Caitanya that a sannyāsī who has renounced everything, if he lives very gorgeously, with good dress, and good house, and APARTMENT… No. This is not approved by Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Then what is that? What does it mean? A sannyāsī living like a first-class gentleman, smoking, and very nice apartment, and some, I mean to say, LADY ASSISTANT, SECRETARY… What is this? Caitanya Mahāprabhu did not approve. He must be, as far as possible… Whatever is absolutely necessity, he should accept, not more. Yes. That is renounced order of life, not that in the name of renounced order of life he should live at the expense of the householders, very gorgeously. No. This is not sannyāsa. It is not accepted by Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s sampradāya. (Lecture CC 20.66-96, New York, November 21, 1966)

Dear Sriman Hanuman Das,
Please accept my best wishes and blessings of Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Srila Prabhupada our loving spiritual master and saviour of the whole
world by spreading Sanatana dharma and Holy name all over the world and who is very kind upon the fallen souls like myself.
I have gone through your email . Thankyou very much for the same. Thanks for your concern.
I would like to explain that keeping Sri Sri Gaur Nitai Panchatatva, Sri Sri Radha Krishna, Sri Sri Sita Ram Laxman Hanuman, Sri Sri Narsimhadeva ,Prahlad Maharaj, and Srila Prabhupada in my heart, right now I am with six brahmacharies and one house holder. By Prabhupada mercy I never travel alone with women. Srila Prabhupada has personally taught me to call all the ladies as “mataji” (mother). Even to whom I am instrumental in giving initiation, I call them mother. By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada till today
I have never touched any mataji. This is for your kind information.
I agree that if a sanyasi is not following the sanayasa rules and regulations he should remember the incident of Chota Haridas. By the mercy of Srila Prabhupada till today I am able to follow this. I hope Prabhupada will remain merciful upon this fallen soul and till the end of my life he will protect this humble servant.
Second thing I would like to know, who is this great soul who has informed you. Is he free from all vices and is he a pure devotee? When somebody is criticizing somebody one should find out the truth. not that anybody says something about somebody and one starts believing in that.
I hope this email will meet you in good health and full of Krishna conscious
Your well wisher,

Dear Hanuman das,
Pamho. All glories to Srila Prabhupada
This is with reference to the recent mail sent by you to His Holiness Navyogendra swami. I would like to reply to you query. First let me bring to your kind notice that I have been in his personal service for the past 23 years as a full time bramachari disciple. Every year for three months I am with Maharaj for almost 24 hous service. It is absolutly
baseless to say that Maharaj has employed Kuntidevi dasi as his personal female assistant . She is one of the senior disciples of Maharaj who looks after gurukul and temple in Udhampur J&k . Some times she travels with us but not alone. She is always accompanied by one more mataji who assist her. Maharaj has always received personal service from bramacharies(Sudarshan das,Sajayvyas das,Myself, Madhupriya das)till date . None of us have seen any avaishnava behaviour. He is very strict in his ettiquetes as a sanyasi . His standing instruction is that no mataji should enter his room without the presence of another male person. He never allows any lady to sit by his side while travelling in a car, flight or any other vehicle. He strictly forbids any lady from touching his feets.nor he personally offer prasad garland to any lady. He does not use email, facebook, internet etc.
He got his sannyasa from Prabhupada in 1975 and till date he is following his instructions strictly. He calls every lady as mataji whether young or old.He is known for his purity and integrity throughout Iskcon. You have been wrongly notified by some envious person and any evidence provided to you is definitely a contorted version of the truth. They are commiting a grave vaisnava aparadha. For any clarifications we can have a face to face talk whenever you are visiting India.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
So, if women don’t do personal services, if women can’t enter his room without being accompanied by male, if women can’t sit by his side while travelling, then what is the reason for women travelling with him at all? Everything you described is proper etiquette, so, in other word, traveling with women for a sannyasi creates many problems due to various rules, why not travel with men only as 90% of ISKCON sannyasis are doing?
Do you have any reference in sastra that women can travel with sannyasis?

Dear Hanuman Das
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada
I recently came to know about the email you sent to HisHoliness Nava Yogendra Swami.
I am Dr. Madhu Priya Das. And I know Maharaj ji since past 20years. I completed my MBBS and joined Maharaj ji. I am travelling andassociating with him personally since last 9 years and serving in his ashram atUdhampur (Jammu and Kashmir), India. Being his personal servant I am writingthis email to you.
Let me bring in your notice some points.
Maharaj ji always calls every lady as “Mataji (Mother)” andhe behaves in the same way.
The Mataji, you are talking about (H.G. Kunti Mata ji), she is a very senior disciple of Maharaj ji and is always accompanied by another Mataji while on travel.
Maharaj ji always travels with Brahmacharies and only they are allowed to hold the posts of personal servant and personal secretary. This time he is travelling with a group of 6 Brahmacharies and one householder.
I am with Maharaj ji since 9 years, travelling with him and remain with him 24 hours a day. Being a young Brahmachari I have learnt lots ofthings from him. While conversing with a lady he avoids looking at her face.Maharaj ji lectures generally with closed eyes. He is very strict in his behavior. He never talks to any Mataji in private. One Brahmachari stays close to him always. Nor does he let any Mataji sit next to him in car, plane or train. I think I Know Maharaj ji better than outsiders.
Everyone knows about the unfortunate past incidents of Guru fall down in ISKCON but we should keepin mind that all the five fingers are not equal. Maharaj ji hails from a traditional Vaishnava brahmin family and he is well conversant with Vaishnava etiquettes right from childhood. Every Genuine bhakta of ISKCON who knows Maharaj ji, knows him for his Purity, Strictness and Staunchness in following SrilaPrabhupada Instructions. Some envious person might have given you this wrong feedback, but Krishna has given all of us developed intelligence so that we can discriminate between right and wrong. Srila Prabhupada has said “To call aGentleman a thief is Vaishnav Ninda. To blaspheme a genuine disciple
of SrilaPrabhupada and devotee of Lord Krishna amounts to grave vaisnav aparadha.
If you want to know more about Maharaj ji and his behavior please come and join personally in travelling. See for yourself his behavior, strictness and dedication towards Srila Prabhupada.
SrilaPrabhupada states in SB 4.21.37, Purport:
Prthu Maharaja has explained in the previous verse the importance of devotional service for both the rulers and the citizens of the state. Now he explains how
one can be steadily fixed in devotional service. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, while instructing Srila Rupa Gosvami, has compared the devotional service of the Lord
with a creeper. A creeper has a feeble stem and requires the support of another tree to grow, and while growing, it requires sufficient protection so that it
may not be lost. While describing the system of protection for the creeper of devotional service, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has especially stressed
protectionfrom offenses unto the lotus feet of Vaisnavas. Such offenses are called vaisnava-aparadha. Aparadha means “offense.” If one commits vaisnava-aparadhas, all of his progress in devotional service will be checked. Even though one is very much advanced indevotional service, if he commits offenses at the feet of a Vaisnava, his advancement is all spoiled. In the sastras it is found that a very great yogi, Durvasa Muni, committed a vaisnava-aparadha and thus for one full year had to travel all over the universe, even to Vaikuntha loka, to defend himself from the offense. At last, even when he approached the Supreme Personality of Godhead in Vaikuntha, he was refused protection. Therefore one should be very careful about committing offenses at the feet of a Vaisnava.
