Beware of “guru approvers”Hanuman das
Today, we are talking about “guru approvers”. If you are a believer in the Corporate ISKCON fairytale, then you surely know that in order to go Back to Godhead, you need to become a disciple. And in order to become a disciple, you must find a guru. But, who is a guru?
For those who are lazy or retarded, and therefore they never took the trouble to read Srila Prabhupada’s books, lectures and letters, they will fall victim to the guru approvers fairytale.
If you want to be a member of ISKCON, you must believe that this largely deviated organization is led by “pure devotees”. And only “pure devotees” are able to recognize who is a guru. And therefore, new gurus must be “approved” by GBC body. Otherwise, if purest of the pure don’t consider you pure, then you are not able to initiate disciples. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Small problem – the reality
First of all, “purest of the pure” were never actually pure. Because we have more than 70 fallen gurus in ISKCON. And pure devotees don’t fall down. Pure representatives of Krishna took strong shelter of Srila Prabhupada and therefore Krishna is protecting them. But on the other hand, “guru approvers” deviated from Srila Prabhupada’s original instructions. Srila Prabhupada writes:
Every student is expected to become Acarya. Acarya means one who knows the scriptural injunctions and follows them practically in life, and teaches them to his disciples. …Keep trained up very rigidly and then you are bona fide Guru, and you can accept disciples on the same principle. But as a matter of etiquette it is the custom that during the lifetime of your Spiritual Master you bring the prospective disciples to him, and in his absence or disappearance you can accept disciples without any limitation. This is the law of disciplic succession. I want to see my disciples become bona fide Spiritual Master and spread Krishna consciousness very widely, that will make me and Krishna very happy. (Letter to Tusta Krsna, 2 Dec. 1975)
Srila Prabhupada clearly says: without any limitation. But corrupt GBC body is finding guru business to be very lucrative, and therefore they decided to sell guru licenses. And what is the price? The price is your silence, if you want to become a guru, you will have to sign “a guru form”, in which you promise to never criticize corrupt GBC body and their fake guru approval system.
Srila Prabhupada writes:
Prabhupada: If you are incapable of raising yourself to the standard of becoming spiritual master, that is not your spiritual master’s fault; that is your fault. He wants, just like Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, amara ajnaya guru hana [Cc. Madhya 7.128], By My order, every one of you become a guru. If one cannot carry out the order of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, then how he can become a guru? The first qualification is that he must be able to carry out the order of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Then he becomes guru. So that carrying out the order of Caitanya Mahaprabhu depends on one’s personal capacity. Amara ajnaya guru hana. (Room Conversation, 29 June 1972, San Diego)
As you can see, Srila Prabhupada says that being a guru depends on one’s personal capacity, not on the will of the corrupt administrative body. Actually, if you look throughout all Srila Prabhupada’s books, lectures, letters and conversation, you will not find a single piece of evidence that Srila Prabhupada ever wanted administratively approved gurus.
The scariest philosophical conclusion of all is that in the current “guru approval” system, we are almost guaranteed that pure devotees will never be able to become gurus in ISKCON. A real guru is an uncompromising preacher of truth, and he will never agree to sign “guru form” which is nothing else than a gag order.
Bhaktisuddhanta Sarasvati explains how real guru looks like:
A chanter of Hari-kirtana is necessarily the uncompromising enemy of worldliness and hypocrisy. It is his constant function to dispel all misconceptions by preaching the truth in its most unambiguous form, without any consideration of person, place, or time. The form to be adopted is that which is least likely to be misunderstood. It is his bounden duty to clearly and frankly oppose any person who tries to deceive and harm himself and others by misrepresenting the truth, whether due to malice or genuine misunderstanding. This will be possible if the chanter of kirtana is always prepared to submit to being trodden upon by thoughtless people, if such discomfort will enable him to benefit his persecutors by chanting of the truth in the most unambiguous manner.
If he is unwilling or afraid of considerations of self-respect or personal discomfort to chant kirtana under all circumstances, he is unfit to be a preacher of the absolute truth. Humility implies perfect submission to the truth and no sympathy for untruth. Those who entertain any partiality for untruth are unfit to chant Hari-kirtana. Any clinging to untruth is opposed to the principle of humility born of absolute submission to the truth. (Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur, Harmonist 26.249-50, Apr 1929)
Do you really think that administratively approved gurus who signed gag order can be real gurus at any point in time?
The example of guru approver
Now, you must surely be very curious how “guru approver” looks like. You are surely thinking about some very serious follower of Srila Prabhupada who imbibed with knowledge of Srila Prabhupada’s books. Actually, this is how real guru approver looks like:
Does this retarded clown who is bringing disgrace to this movement really reminds you of Srila Prabhupada? Do you think Srila Prabhupada would ever do something like this? And this retarded show is not a coincidence. This video was published on ISKCON Toronto Instagram profile. This same “guru approver” was caught blessing dogs, we already wrote article about this:
And he also gave initiation to homosexual couple and named them “Rupa” and “Sanatana” Goswami:
Anybody who thinks that this “guru approver” is a pure devotee and that people he approves are pure devotees has a severely twisted vision of reality.
You should not allow yourself to be cheated by guru approvers. Read Srila Prabhupada’s books carefully, and accept a guru who really resembles Srila Prabhupada in his preaching style.
