BBT and the tale of forbidden scrolls

BBT and the tale of forbidden scrolls

In the ISKCON Gestapo organization, leadership is extraordinarily pure.

Therefore, there is no need to question their decisions. There is no need to investigate anything. There is no need to analyze anything. Because everything is already perfect. And, if you fail to accept that anti-intellectual dogma, your days in ISKCON are numbered.

This also true for BBT, ISKCON’s sister organization who is taking care of Srila Prabhupada’s books. God help us.

If you are an ISKCON scientist, philosopher and a Sanskrit scholar, your chance to obtain early transcripts of Srila Prabhupada’s works is close to nil or zilch.

Similarly, If you want to research the history of the Chinese Communist party, your communist brothers will heartwarmingly prevent you from doing that. Because you see, there is no need to investigate anything. Chinese Communist party is perfect, everything is already researched.

Similarly, Garuda Prabhu wanted to access the early transcripts of Caitanya Caritamrta. He asked the BBT to provide him with those transcripts:

Jaya Śrī Śrī Guru Gaurāṅga!

To Whom It May Concern:

Late last October, I informally requested, via a brief email without any explanation, access to the original sources for the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta from which any BBT editor has ever worked for producing later versions. And just yesterday, your secretary informs me that “the BBT trustees” voted on whether or not to grant me access, and received the following words:

“The BBT trustees discussed Garuda Prabhu’s request on 29 October 2019. The majority were not in favor of sharing the Caitanya-caritamrita original transcripts.”

I apologize for not making it clear why I requested access. And thus I’m writing to you now to have you reconsider, given that I’m being clearer and disclosing my purposes and motives fully in doing so.

The purpose of this email-letter is to make a more formal request to access the original sources from which any BBT editor has ever worked for the editing or revising or making any changes whatsoever to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, published by the BBT in 1975.

My need for access to these original sources is two-fold: It is for both personal-devotional and scholarly-theological purposes. Speaking to the personal-devotional purpose, it is important for you to know that as a disciple of Śrīla Prabhupāda for forty-eight years, the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta has been and continues to be my most precious Vaishnava scripture from which I have constantly drawn personal inspirition since its original publication. I read from it constantly and take shelter of its words. I feel closest to Śrīla Prabhupāda when I read it, and thus it is an essential part of my sādhana.

As a trained textual scholar in classical and medieval bhakti texts, and as one who has and continues to be involved in publishing others’ books and my own with some of the finest academic and trade publishers, I urgently need to know what Śrīla Prabhupāda’s original gift of the Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta is, without any modifications or editorial alterations whatsoever. I want to refer to the authentic sources for my academic research, writing, and publishing. I’ve been studying the nature of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s writing for many years, and have written on his writings and published professional articles on it since 1998. I was especially looking at Śrīla Prabhupāda’s works when advising Tamal Krishna Goswami during his doctoral work at the University of Cambridge. And for completing the requirements for my first of three master’s degrees, I wrote a master’s thesis based on Krishnadas Kaviraja Gosvami’s great work, which was sent directly to Śrīla Prabhupāda in August of 1977 for his blessings.

I share some of this history with you to make it abundantly clear what my interests and motives are. And to allay any concerns or fears that may exist otherwise on your part, I am prepared, if need be, to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Thank you very much for your consideration.

Sincerely and with my respectful pranamas,

Dear Garuda Prabhu, Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Thank you for your letter requesting access to the transcripts of Srila Prabhupada’s dictations and other early material of Srila Prabhupada’s Sri Caitanya-caritamrta. At this time the BBT is not releasing original transcripts of BBT works to anyone, be it individual scholars or others. We’re sorry not to be accommodating your request right now – Srila Prabhupada indicated that he didn’t want the original transcripts and other such material distributed, and so we’re being a bit cautious about it for the moment.

Also, as you know, the BBT trustees, in concert with the GBC, have assembled a Revisions Review Panel (RRP). The RRP will design criteria based on Srila Prabhupada’s instructions and a system by which proposed or previously accepted revisions of Srila Prabhupada’s books will be reviewed, decided on, and disseminated.

The RRP is composed of highly-qualified senior devotees who will systematically and thoroughly review Srila Prabhupada’s works, including Sri Caitanya-caritamrta.

To maintain the integrity of this process, the trustees will not be sharing original source materials, including those for Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, except with the RRP. We want to avoid possible confusion from out-of-context analyses. We know this means you’ll have to wait a bit – and we’re sorry to delay you – but we think it’s the best way to go about things, at least at this early stage of the revision review process and in our attempt to honor Srila Prabhupada’s instructions. We hope you’ll understand and we thank you for your patience. We’ll revisit this decision once things are solidly underway with the RRP and let you know where things stand.

Until then, we remain,

Your servants at The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust

Translation

Ok, since most of the people visiting my website are not cunning politicians, scholars or lawyers, let me translate this BBT letter for you:

Dear Garuda Prabhu, Please accept our not so humble obeisances. All glories to revenue of the BBT corporation which allowed us to enjoy life. Thank you for your letter requesting access to the transcripts of Srila Prabhupada’s dictations and other early material of Srila Prabhupada’s Sri Caitanya-caritamrta.  Ain’t no plebs gonna read our secret scrolls. I am the man here. The senior templars of Church of the Holly BBT Trinity are only ones qualified to read the secret scrolls.

Shiiiit, nigga, we ain’t sorry at all for not accommodating your request right now or forever and ever. Srila Prabhupada indicated to me in a dream that he didn’t want bearded people to get their hands the original transcripts and other such material. And so we’re being a bit cautious about it for the moment because you look like a terrorist. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Also, as you know, the BBT trustees, in concert with the GBC, have assembled a Revisions Review Panel (RRP). You should trust us. Since we are the ones who messed up Srila Prabhupada’s books in the first place. so, we are surely qualified to select templars of Holy RRP order. The RRP is composed of highly-qualified senior devotees who will systematically and thoroughly review Srila Prabhupada’s works, including Sri Caitanya-caritamrta. Those are the same blind rascals who never complained about Srila Prabhupada’s books being mutilated.

To maintain the integrity of this process, the trustees will not be sharing original source materials, including those for Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, except with the RRP. We want to avoid possible confusion from out-of-context analyses. After all, we are the Gestapo. We know this means you’ll have to wait a bit, but don’t worry this process will not take longer than 50 years  – and we’re sorry to delay you – but we think it’s the best way to go about things, at least at this early stage of the revision review process and in our attempt to honor Srila Prabhupada’s instructions. We hope you’ll understand that only way to remain impartial and become trustworthy is hide everything from the people who are not in the “circle”, if you know what I mean.

Until then, we remain,

Your servants at The Chinese Gestapo Book Trust

Conclusion

Every time you buy BBT book, you are directly financing Gestapo officers such as Naresvara dasa. They are not allowing anybody to fight for Srila Prabhupada’s legacy. They are so full of Gestapo pride, thinking themselves to be the only ones who are qualified to study Srila Prabhupada’s original transcripts. But BBT trustees are nothing more than traitors gone crazy due to extensive influence of money, power, and false prestige.

Srila Prabhupada left his works for all his disciples to study, but we can see that some disciples consider themselves empowered to prevent their Godbrothers access to Srila Prabhupada’s legacy.

Up to this point, I was kinda neutral, I thought that you can buy whatever version of the Srila Prabhupada’s you want. But after this, even I would advise my readers not to buy a single book from BBT. Buy all your books from KBI. Otherwise, by buying BBT books, you are feeding the ego of Naresvara and other members of the ISKCON Gestapo party. The more money they have, the more strong they will be. And the stronger they are, the more they will use their influence to push their Gestapo ideology.
