Back to 3T Godhead

This article is written by one of ISKCON devotees in Brazil, who has to watch all the nonsense happening in his country. Of course, according to ISKCON’s “Silent sheep non offender” theory, he was supposed to stay quiet about all the nonsense happening there, but he couldn’t.

Brazil is under direct supervision of the GBC Executive committee consisting of:

  • Bhakti Caru Swami
  • Madhusevita das
  • Bhaktivaibhava Swami

All those people are responsible for this craziness that is happening in Brasil.

Giridhari Das’ “The 3T Path” Book Review

Giridhari Das’ book called “The 3T Path” is being officially promoted by Hridayananda Dasa Goswami in his Krishna West website.

You can search Facebook for “Caminho 3T” and then you’ll see how strongly this book is being promoted by ISKCON leaders in Brazil. It’s on many official ISKCON pages ( including ISKCON Brazil and Nova Gokula ).

Ask any of your Brazilian friends about this book. They can confirm that’s being promoted by ISKCON Brazil almost as strongly as the Bhagavad Gita itself, you can find it everywhere you go.

Of course, the person behind all this is the leader of the Brazilian yatra, Hridayananda Maharaj:

“This impressive book from Giridhari Dasa makes it clear why he is a spiritual internet star. This systematic, eloquent book provides valuable guidance for those seeking serious spiritual progress.” – Howard J. Resnick (Hridayananda Das Goswami), PhD in Sanskrit and Indian Studies from Harvard, spiritual leader

And hey, look, Prem Baba also likes it:

“In this book, Giridhari Das offers an invaluable present to humanity. Works such as this are true treasures – manifestations of divine compassion in the service of dharma, the higher purpose. I would also say that The 3T Path is a practical survival guide in difficult times.” – Sri Prem Baba, psychologist, spiritual leader

“If Prem Baba and Srila Acharyadeva like this book, then he can’t possibly be wrong! Let’s promote it.”. That’s how ISKCON leaders think.

I paid a couple of dollars for this book on Google Play, so I’ll write a book review to fight all deviations inside it ( otherwise it’d be just a waste of money ).

3T Path Step One: Don’t follow Prabhupada, follow me

The most disturbing part is right at the end of the book, where there’s the recommended bibliography, that is, the books that you should read now that you have finished reading The 3T Path.

So the message here is:

  • First you read my books;
  • Then you read Hridayananda Maharaj’s books,
  • then you read a book by a karmi Indologist who says that Krsna is a legend,
  • and only then you can read Prabhupada’s books.

Notice how much he emphasizes that you should read them exactly in the order they are listed. Somebody may complain that I’m making a big fuss about nothing, so let’s read what’s written on the next page:

In other words: He’s saying don’t follow Prabhupada, follow me and Hridayananda Maharaj.

But anyway, if he says that the 3T Path is greater than our guru parampara’s path, then let’s see what he’s suggesting.

3T Path, Step Two: Avoid people who actually follow Prabhupada

Here on page 144, Giridhari is requesting all newcomers reading his book to avoid fanatics like us that think we should follow Srila Prabhupada instead of him.

3T Path, Step Three: Follow my 1st regulative principle — Be Vegan

You can read this nonsense on page 133 under “Veganism”. Your other option is to actually follow Prabhupada by receiving instructions from a bona fide spiritual master on this matter, but – remember our deal! First you follow Giridhari, then you can listen what everyone else is saying.

3T Path, Step Four: Follow my 4th regulative principle – Believe my Unlimited Sex Theory

This part is so absurd that I had to reproduce it here in its entirety.

Like all other parts of the book, it proposes to teach key aspects of Krsna Consciousness to its readers without ever even mentioning the name of Srila Prabhupada, what to say of actually quoting him.

Here sex is presented as “a sacred act of intimacy” and sex for procreation is “its most beautiful and divine form” ( implying that sex not for procreation is also beautiful and divine if you’re married to the person you’re having sex with ).

Notice that contraception is mentioned but it’s not condemned. Abortion is condemned as demoniac ( “heinous and immoral” in Giridhari’s language ) but contraception is seen as simply “a technology”.

Wait a minute! Is that a Bhagavad gita reference? I can’t believe it! Let’s follow it and see where it takes us:

… What? Did you expect Prabhupada’s Bhagavad Gita as It Is? Then obviously you still didn’t take the first step in our 3T Path. First you follow Giridhari, then you follow Hridayananda Maharaj, then you follow karmi scholars who think Krsna is a legend, and only then you can go and see what Prabhupada thinks.

Suggestion to the GBC: Ban this Book

We all know that the GBC likes to ban books. So, in order to save up their time, I have written a Resolution text below that they can use for banning it.

Harmonizing our Preaching Efforts

Whereas the GBC Body accepts that many different understandings of the teachings of Srila Prabhupada and sastra, and many different understandings of what constitutes effective preaching, exist amongst ISKCON devotees, and this, in general, is a healthy situation;

Whereas when one ISKCON devotee’s preaching efforts, however well-meaning, are seen to work at cross purposes with the preaching efforts of others, it is the responsibility of ISKCON’s leadership to step in and take regulative action that it considers will be most favorable for the fulfillment of the objectives of ISKCON;

Whereas when publications are sold or promoted on ISKCON premises it gives the impression that ISKCON as a whole is endorsing the contents of such publications;

Whereas the book, “The 3T Path” by Giridhari Das, has been seen to cause misunderstanding of Srila Prabhupada’s instructions, alienation and polarization of many devotees, and it has the potential to create even more disruptions to many aspects of ISKCON’s preaching work in the future;

Whereas the book doesn’t ever quote even one single line from Srila Prabhupada’s books;

Wheread most of the time Srila Prabhupada’s name isn’t even mentioned;

Whereas as stated by the author, the book “features many generalizations and personal views of mine that should be taken above Srila Prabhupada’s statements;”

Whereas the book contains statements advocating practices that are stupid in the majority of countries in the world, notably veganism, reading karmi scholars, offering karmi food, and unlimited sex theory;

That the sale and/or distribution of the publication “The 3T Path” by Giridhari Das, is not allowed on ISKCON premises, or at any ISKCON supported programs.

Therefore the following statement is also be published:

The opinions expressed by Giridhari Das in his book “The 3T Path” are solely those of the author in his private capacity and do not necessarily reflect the views and practices of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), or its Founder-Acarya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
